Named for the sugar tatreez motif, the Sukar inlay turns ornament into structure: each inlay is both a decorative pattern and a strengthening wood joint at the chair’s focal points. Drawing on the visual language of traditional Palestinian embroidery, maple pierces walnut like thread through fabric, forming repeated graphic motifs that both ornament and reinforce the chair’s structure.
